5 Great Souvenirs from Walt Disney World
The happiest place on earth...is quite expensive.
If you plan on going to Walt Disney World, you are aware of how expensive this place can be, just for tickets and a hotel. Not to mention food! But I will say this: DO NOT MISS OUT ON SOUVENIRS! You will see things you like and you should definitely consider buying them.
It's been a little over a year since I went last March, but here are 5 items that I bought while I was there. For these items, I wanted functional souvenirs that I would use a lot outside of the park but also bring me joy and these are key traits to consider when buying at WDW. I am also showing the quality of these items since they have held up very well a year past their purchase.
I am going to this magical place again this December! Because of this, I am bringing a lot of my items that I bought back with me because of how handy they are and adorable. I will also be buying a pair of Mickey ears since I couldn't find ones I liked last time. (I'm hoping for Tangled ones!)
1. Eeyore Pillow Pet
The first thing I bought was this adorable Eeyore pillow pet. I bought this at Disney Springs, so not even in the park, at their giant Disney store. It was about $25, if I remember correctly. They also had a ton of Disney Character Pillow Pets and all of them are adorable and well worth the purchase!
They are perfect cuddle buddies as well as a pillow and a reminder of your trip when you go to sleep.
What I loved about Eeyore, besides loving the character, was that his tail also detaches! This was a nice little Disney magic touch that I thought made the purchase even more satisfying. I definitely recommend a Disney character pillow pet and there are PLENTY to choose from!
2. Disney Sunglasses
So I forgot to bring sunglasses with me when I went down there and it gets very sunny in Florida. But luckily I could buy Disney sunglasses with little Mickeys on them! I bought these at Disney Springs in the Disney store as well for about $12.
They are pretty durable and only have a scratch on them from constant packing and repacking from college to home. They come in a variety of pretty colors, as well as the mint ones pictured here. They made me feel like I was a part of the Disney World and also kept me from squinting a lot!
3. Monsters University Hat
As soon as I saw this hat, I bought it because it is something I always wanted! I bought this hat in a little shop right when you enter Hollywood Studios. It was $18 and fits perfectly on my rather large head. It's adjustable, keeps the sun out of your eyes and cools you down. Plus it's adorable!
This hat is of very great quality since I have worn it and sweat in it a LOT and even after washes, it looks brand new with only a little wear. Very functional and adorable souvenir to buy!
4. Once Upon A Time Box
This is a gift my boyfriend surprised me with after the trip. I pointed it out to him and kinda hinted at how cute it was and lucky me! I got it when we got home with a picture of us in it! It was bought in the Disney store at Epcot near the Ball for around $30.
It is such a fantastic souvenir! It can remind you of your trip as well as something else because of the memories and moments you can store inside. It's easily packable because of it's rectangular shape and is very durable but should still be treated with care. For me, it's a memory box for my boyfriend and I as well as a holder for other Disney souvenirs like the maps from the trip and a pin he got me. It stands up very well and can be placed on a shelf for all to see how lucky and magical your life is!
5. Ariel Souvenir Cup
So it may have been a kids menu item, but I did not care because this cup is adorable. I love Ariel and they were selling a Little Mermaid and Buzz Lightyear cup with a very tasty lemonade inside that I couldn't resist.
This was at the British Pub in Epcot and with the drink, cup and light up straw attachment was only about $8. The cup holds quite a bit and isn't too child-sized, which is good for back home when reusing it but also at the restaurant when I was rather thirsty at lunch. It's a functional, adorable and rather small souvenir that brings me great joy every time I open the kitchen cabinet back home.
Stay tuned for a blog post after my December trip to see what other great souvenirs there are for you to buy, as well as my thoughts on Disney at Christmas, which is sure to blow me away!
