How To Pack Your Beauty Care Products for College
When you're an eighteen year old girl, the amount of beauty care products you have tend to accumulate and can be overwhelming to pack it all. Well here's your first tip: Don't pack all of it!
First things first, go through all of your hair products, nail products, jewelry and makeup supplies and throw out anything old or stuff you don't want or don't use. Hopefully this cuts down the amount of beauty care supplies you have and we will narrow it down a bit more from there.
For bath supplies:
It depends on what the bathroom looks like at your dorm. If you have a shared hall bathroom or if you share with your suite mates or if you have your own (lucky!), then what you bring can change. A good bottle of your favorite shampoo and conditioner and body wash is always a good start. Whether you use a loofa or a washcloth is more personal preference, but you'll have to wash your washcloths a lot or bring a ton (and you typically have to pay for laundry so maybe loofa is a better option). Some kind of caddy is a good idea though! Whether one that you hang up in the shower or carry around depends again on your shower situation and personal preference.
Before you go off to college, be sure you assess what kind of person you are when it comes to beauty. What categories do you care a lot about? Then out of those categories pick the ones you care most about and you can go a bit heavier on the packing for them. Otherwise, less is more.
For Hair:
Pack the bare minimum first. Then decide what other items you really need. You do not need a ton of haircare products and gels and you probably don't need more than one curler or straightener, if you even use one. A brush or comb is always an essential item.
For Makeup:
Again pack the bare minimum. Then add a few other little things. If you are big on makeup, feel free to take a lot more if you do it everyday. But still go through your makeup and bring only the good stuff that is used the most.
For Nails:
A file and clippers are an essential packing item. Any polish or oils you use can be brought but trust me, you do not need 50 colors of nail polish to choose from. Pick about 7-10 so you can have a full rainbow spectrum to choose from, but anything more than that is overkill.
For Jewelry:
Pick the items you will wear a lot. And then one or so items that are a bit nicer for more professional or fancy outings. A handful of earrings, maximum of 5 bracelets, and maximum of 10 necklaces should do the trick. Maybe 1 or 2 rings. Keep the jewelry light, unless you change your jewelry everyday then you can go for a bit more items on this. But it should not be excessive.
For college, you don't need to be super glamorous every day because most of the time it'll be a waste of time and people won't really notice because they have their own education to worry about. Best to save some of your glam for special events on campus so then you can really blow them away!
Stay hygienic while you're away!
